This Week in Guns, May 24th, 2014 2014-05-24 by: badanov By Chris Covert Rantburg.com New Yorkers realized that their laws have consequences as Remington Firearms has announced they will move some of their firearm production to more gun friendly Alabama. The problem is the leftists do not care about jobs, only control, so the move is seen as a natural and positive consequence. The US Department of Justice is pressuring banks and financial institutions about supporting firearms sellers, apparently wanting them to end their relationship. As I have said before, part of the problem with the government's relationship with firearms sales and purchases is the willingness of private businesses to be an agent of government firearms policy. It may work when times are fat, but now firearms dealers are becoming part of the problem as the federal government attempts to restrict gun sales. Apparently, as a result of this pressure the government is warning gun sellers about accepting cash for multiple gun purchases, which would be the only way I would buy just one gun, if I bought a gun from a business. As it is, it is bad to give your name and the registration number of the firearm you are trying to acquire if that information gets passed and kept -- illegally -- by the government. Firearms dealers are active agents in that. Last week's item from the Eternal O-5 Lt. Col. Robert Bateman repeating the claim that an antigun woman was spat upon in an Indianapolis airport last April turns out to be a lie. Best start training for close quarters combat with your local police. That style of combat is coming. Loads.
