Inspired by assault scene from the most excellent film "Tears of the Sun", this scenario instead takes place in a desert village in the fictional country of Takistan. The forces used are Chernarusian Spetsnaz. It is a difficult scenario to complete because it is close quarters battle by a unit outnumbered.

What follows is the mission briefing. At the moment, there is no photo play available.

Major, an insurgent command unit entered Garmarud yesterday afternoon and commandeered the town to set up a headquarters and supply base.

Some time after dark two busloads of 20 civilians, a group of Chernarusians calling itself Doctors for Peace, came rolling into town to set up a medical mission. They apparently were unaware of the change of ownership in the town.

The humanitarian group is currently being held at gunpoint at several locations in town, and reports suggest they are being tortured and abused. The civilian who reported the capturing of the Chernarusian civilians said that the rebel commander promises to execute his prisoners if we try to stage a rescue. Monitored cellular communications emanating from town suggest the rebels are holding hostages for ransom.

Command has dispatched three heavy snipers to the area to monitor the town, and they have been there since 0300 hrs.

Your strike team will insert about a kilometer south of town. Once your team is on the ground, snipers will begin eliminating targets. Most of the hostages are being held in buildings in the northern sector of town. Your orders are to clear this area house by house until all targets have been eliminated.

You will treat civilian wounded and then order any surviving civilians to board transport helos, which are standing by.

Once that is done, you will destroy all enemy supplies, and then extract back to base.

All the best, Major.
