The tempo of combat operations continued at a decreased pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in four operations in four regions.

1) A group of about 20 refugees who traveled by foot south to Ratzlingen in Rosche late Friday morning, were said to be individuals kidnapped by separatists, but then who were released.

The town mayor confirmed that all 20 had relatives who were previously evacuated some time ago. The town and the general area had no resources to transport the refugees. IDAP NGO was not permitted by CDF military authorities to service refugees in a forward zone.

Commander 4th Bn, Chernarus 10th Separate Tank Brigade was ordered to assist the evacuation of the refugees, even though they and the townspeople were warned that involvement of the military would be cause to attack the town.

The task force arrived in town and deployed on a shallow arc pointing north. Once they were situated, the attacks began, first with infantry attacks coming from the northwest.

Tank 1 was deployed along the northwest axis, and dealt with the infantry attacks without help from 2nd squad. As far as could be ascertained, the attacks were stopped, but later it was found a number of enemy infantry had infiltrated into town.

Tank 2 fended off infantry attacks from the northeast as well. Infantry attacks fell upon Scout 2 and 3rd squad. Scout 2 was destroyed by enemy grenade and small arms attacks. 3rd squad suffered under those attacks as well.

Several enemy armor vehicles penetrated into the defensive zone. All but two were destroyed by tank gunfire. Command squad's RPG gunners destroyed one BRDM.

One BMP-1 penetrated into town without being fired on by any tank, but the vehicle would up overturned by a building in town. It was destroyed by the commander.

When the order to retreat was issued, command squad and 2nd squad were first forced to counterattack a small rifle group. Once they were destroyed, 2nd quad retreated, as did Scout 1.

The task force managed to retreat in good order. Casualties were mild. Command squad lost one, while 2nd squad lost two, 3rd squad lost three. Scout 2 was destroyed.

Field counts put the enemy vehicle losses at three BRDMs, three BMP-2s, one T-34/85 and one BMP-1.

2) A task force composed of elements of 3rd Bn, Chernarus 13th Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was ordered to attack and clear a separatist combat group in South Werferlingen Saturday evening.

Two operatives leading the separatists were Oleg Noskov and Tika Xhukici, both of whom were on a kill list.

The tactical plan was for Tank 1 and Tank 2 to cover the main road leading north through Werferlingen city, while 2nd and 3rd squad moved north, then turned east to execute a flanking attack.

Command squad with the cover of Scout 1 (BRDM) would move east, then north clearing the town up to the location of the operatives.

In the initial contact, 2nd and 3rd squad bailed upon hearing a gunfire exchange between the tanks and an enemy SPG-9 technical. Scout 1 and command squad continued passed them to execute their planned maneuvers.

Command squad came into contact with a Serb speaking militia group, which had deployed inside buildings in the south, and who were backed up by a grenade launcher technical.

Command squad hacked its way north to the operatives' housing unit. The commander eliminated Xhukici, and stripped her of documents. Noskov was later found dead in the streets. He also was stripped of documents.

During the attack by command squad, neither 2nd nor 3rd squad moved to their assigned positions. Command squad moved north to locate a dead drop of documents left there by local friendly intelligence agents.

The task force withdrew south after completing the operation.

Casualties were very light. Command squad lost one. The separatists lost two BTR-80As and two technicals.

3) 1st Squadron, 2nd Separate Naval Aviation Regiment, based in Balota airfield in Chernarus, sortied two SU-25 ground interdiction aircraft Saturday afternoon to a location where separatists had amassed ground forces.

The enemy troops concentration was attacked, and was destroyed by the aircraft. The sortie returned to base.

A Chernarus naval infantry detachment tasked as a bomb damage assessment team, was launched to the location to assess damage and to mop up any enemy forces in the area.

The air mission and subsequent air mobile mission were successful. All hands returned to base. No losses were reported.

4) An amphibious rifle detachment from 2nd Bn Chernarus 2nd Separate Naval Infantry Brigade was ordered to attack and clear the airfield next to Selakano in Altis Thursday morning.

A separatist formation led by two operatives, Gjergj Kastrioti and Nadezhda Pavlova took over the area, bringing with them an AA battery.

Upon landing the naval infantry force was fired on by a small enemy foot patrol. The marine force counterattacked and drove off the patrol, suffering lossses in the operation. Naval artillery destroyed the mortar battery.

The tactical plan was for 3rd squad to enter the airfield grounds via a break in the south fence, keeping up fire on the airfield occupants, while 2nd squad and command squad would attack from the southwest.

3rd squad suffered severe casualties in their advance. Once in contact, enemy rifle fire and fire from an enemy heavy machine guns technical took its toll of 2nd squad and command squad.

The task force commander killed, the operation was cancelled and the naval infantry force was ordered to retreat back to the boats.

Casualties were catastrophic. 3nd squad was wiped out, while 2nd squad was cut down to two. Command squad lost seven.
