Subject: Weekly Summary of Combat Operations, from February 10th, 2023, to February 16th 2023 Inclusive.

Message begins:

The tempo of combat operations continued at an accelerated pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in seven operations in three regions.

1) Part of 1st Bn, Chernarus 20th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Reigment conducted two operations in Zagorsk, with varying levels of success. The first operation included three locales. Shutsovo, Blitsnetsky and Krasnoye Pole.

In Shutsovo, the operation to clear town took quite a while as enemy forces defended their positions as enemy reinforcements appears.

By this point, losses were light for the task force as well. Once the enemy counterattacks stopped, the task force continued the operation by marching on Krasnoye Pole to the west.

During the runup to the attack on Krasnoye Pole, commander was killed in a minefield. Second in command continued the operation by attacking the location where two criminal command operatives were staying.

Commander was killed in an enemy counterattack on the west side of town, and all the intel data collected from the dead bodies of the operatives were lost.

As commander pushed north, enemy vehicle counterattacks became intensified. Two enemy T-55 tanks attempted to enter town, but were destroyed by task force tanks.

After destroying supply trucks left by the separatists, commander called off the rest of the operation and returned to base.

Casualties were moderate. Command squad lost six, while 2nd squad lost three.

A subsequent operation was launched, again in Olkhovik and Glebovo.

2) In Olkhovik, the task force from 1st Bn, Chernarus 20th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Regiment defended against enemy infantry attacks coming mainly from the west. The two BRDM scout cars which appeared were destroyed. Once Olkhovik was secured, the task left for Glebovo.

In Glebovo, enemy infantry attacks took place from the north and from the northeast. Enemy vehicle attacks took place along a north-south road. Vehicles attacking included BTR-80As.

Enemy attacks penetrated as far south as a kilometer south of Glebovo, before they were stopped by relieving troops.

Losses were mild. Field counts of enemy losses included three BRDMs and one BTR-80A.

3) 3rd Bn, Chernarus 13th Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was ordered to attack and clear the village of Ribbenstedt in Werferlingen.

Included in the orders was the task of destroying enemy AA trucks. Their presence included an unacceptable risk to friendly pilots.

The tactical plan was for the entirety of the task force to attack from the southeast, except for Tank 1, which would attack from the southwest.

The task force on the east side made rapid penetration of the enemy's defensive zone, with the commander ordering artillery attacks on the AA trucks.

The task force defended against an enemy rifle counterattacks. Commander was unable to use artillery due to enemy counterbattery fire.

Once the town was secured, the task force withdrew back to base.

Mild loses included two from command squad and a crew hit for Scout 1 BRDM.

4) In a winter storm, 3rd Bn, Chernarus 13th Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was rushed to Eschenrode in Werferlingen to relieve stranded troops.

Two scout infantry groups, plus two techncials, previously had been sent to Eschenrode to conduct patrols after brigade recon staff received reports of increased enemy activity in the area.

In relief operations, speed is everything, with the task force BRDM scour car and tanks arriving first to counter enemy attacks. As the task force BTR infantry platoon was approaching, the town was attacked by an enemy gunship.

Once the task force arrived, it was set about to defend the town as the two scout groups were evacuated. The western armor group suffered numerous enemy armor attacks.

Eventually, the scout groups were safely evacuated, despite losing one of the transports in a traffic accident. The task force retreat began as soon task command received the report.

In the retreat, Tank 2 had suffered a mobility hit. Command squad was sent to the west to cover the repair, which took place very quickly.

Losses were light. Command squad lost two, whole 2nd squad lost one. Enemy lost three BTR-80A, two BRDMs and one MI-8 gunship.

6) 2nd Bn, Chernarus 17th Separate Light Rifle Brigade sent a task force to the town of Grozovo in Beketov with orders to and clear from separatist troops.

In addition to locating and eliminating the criminal command group, the task force had instructions to recover a trio of civilian prisoners the separatists were holding: the town mayor, her husband and her girlfriend.

The attack was made on a broad front, going west, with the two BRDM scout cars providing heavy machine gun fire support. 3rd squad's advance became bogged down in enemy counterfire, as did command squad.

On entering the town from the south, command squad eliminated a number of Russian special forces holding that area, then continued north. Eventually, commander located the two command operatives and eliminated them.

When commander came to the building where the prisoners were being held, he was nearly eliminated by a Russian speaking militiaman. One of the three prisoners had escaped earlier, leaving the town mayor and her husband.

The task force retreated from town on orders from brigade command.

Losses were moderate. Command squad lost one, 2nd squad lost six and 3rd squad lost two. The gunship providing air cover also was shot down.

7) Later in the evening, another task force was sent out from 2nd Bn, Chernarus 17th Separate Light Rifle Brigade with orders to attack and clear the town of Dorogino.

Similar to the attack operation previously, the task force lined up on a broad front for its attack. The attack slowed down some because of the presence of enemy light armor in the town. The enemy vehicles were eventually destroyed.

Once the two criminal command operatives were eliminated and the intel matter they carried was recovered, the commander set about locating three prisoners being held in town.

This time, none of the prisoners were found. On receiving that information, commander returned to the southern edge of town to await orders. In the meantime, enemy attacks continued from the north.

3rd squad defended against enemy attacks from the north, as 2nd squad was ordered back to its trucks to retreat. Commander ordered smoke artillery rounds to cover the retreat of 3rd squad.

Commander received word that a gunship was down, out of fuel. Commander decided to move his squad to rescue them and escort them back to a vehicle to be evacuated.

Command squad ran into an ambush of Russian special forces and Spanish speaking militia, which proceeded to wiped out command squad, save for two men.

Eventually the pilots were recovered by a BRDM crew, and returned to base.

Casualties were very heavy with command squad losing all but two, and 2nd squad losing eight. Intel material recovered from the enemy operatives was lost.
