Message begins:

The tempo of combat operations continued at an accelerated pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in four operations in four regions.

1) OP2303-24-3 Cham. Wide Area Combat operations in Cham, including the recapturing of Kritzenast, Trosendorf and Thurau by elements of the Chernarus 1st Bn, Chernarus 19th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Regiment.

The tactical plan for the initial attack on Thurau was for command squad to maneuver to the southeast and attack through Thuramule, with tanks 2 and 3 providing tank gunfire support.

Scouts 1 and 2 along with Tank 1 attacked from the west. Capturing the town was quick, but the task force was faced with a large number of counterattacking enemy troops including Russian special forces and Wagner operators.

As command squad pushed through, it was attacked by enemy light armor and by Wagner operated gunships. As the task force approached Kritzenast, attacks by enemy vehicles became intensified.

More counterattacks came from the north, the further north the task force went, with enemy infantry, light armor vehicles, IFVs and two more enemy gunships.

The task force attack on the final objective, Trosendorf, came from the east. As command squad pushed west, enemy counterfire became more intense.

Tank 2 became mired, and the commander failed to bring one of the two remaining tanks up, running into a buzzsaw: an enemy PK machine gun technical. Command squad was cut down to just two.

The operation was a success, but the cost was catastrophic, with all but six infantry out of 20 eliminated. One tank was destroyed. One SU pilot was recovered after being downed.

Enemy field counts of losses included five BMPs, three MI-8 gunships, and three BRDMs.

2) OP2303-24-5 Part of 3rd Bn, Chernarus 24th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade was ordered to march on Bischofsreit, with instructions to recapture the town, eliminate a pair of criminal operatives and to locate a dead drop of documents.

The tactical plan was for all four rifle squads to advance on the village along a broad front from the south, command squad and 3rd squad on the west side, and 2nd and 3rd squads on the east side.

Commander encountered local militia, and while attempting to clear out a building was killed. The second in command took over, wheeled the squad to the east and continued clearing the village.

Commander found the dead body of the lead criminal operative, Ruslan Kravchuck, then located and eliminated Kravchuck's female minder, Maria Shanina. Both were stripped of intel documents.

Despite incoming enemy reinforcements, the town was declared clear, so the task force was ordered to retreat south. Enemy gunships attacked the retreat, and at least one was shot down, while the other continued to attack our troops.

In time the retreat was successful, despite the failure to down the second gunship. Casualties were heavy with 3rd squad being wiped out, 2nd squad losing six, weapons squad losing five and command squad losing three.

Field counts of enemy losses included one MI-8 gunship, one Humvee heavy machine gun technical, one recoilless rifle technical.

3) OP2303-24-6: A task force was assembled from elements of 2nd Bn, Chernarus 4th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade with the task of intercepting an enemy force and preventing them from capturing the town of Stari Sobor.

After a brief march, the task force deployed along a convex arc facing north. Enemy infantry and vehicle attacks began soon after, repeated attacks which were driven back.

In the end of the operation the task force suffered six infantry attacks and three vehicles attack in all, all without yielding any territory.

Casualties were light with command squad and 2nd squad losing zero, and 3rd squad and 4th squad losing three each. The task force retreated in good order south to Rogovo.

Field counts of enemy losses included three technicals.

4) OP2303-24-7 3rd Bn, Chernarus 24th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade attacked the town of Auersbergsreit in Gabreta, with instructions to eliminate a pair of criminal operatives, and to locate a dead drop of stolen documents.

During the approach march, 4th (Weapons) squad was ambushed by an enemy patrol. Command squad intervened, and eliminated the patrol before continuing north.

The tactical plan was for all four rifle squad to advance into town along a broad front. Commander located an enemy technical and launched an artillery strike, which destroyed it.

As the task force converged into town, command located an enemy heavy machine gun technical. Ordering the task force to retreat from the fire safety line, commander ordered a series of artillery attacks.

Believing the Humvee destroyed, command squad advanced only to find the Humvee, although immobile, was still combat effective. The commander was killed.

The delay because of the artillery attack was decisive, as enemy mobile and infantry reinforcements poured into town, steadily sapping the strength of the task force.

The operation failed. Losses in infantry were at 75+ percent. Command changed hands several times, until the remnants of the task force were able to escape the area.
