LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Just two weeks ago, the Southern California football program was in wonderful shape -- a dynasty in the works

What we saw was a stinging defeat by the Texas Longhorns, breaking a dynasty.

The AP sportswriter John Nadel just have missed that game. USC lost all claim to a "dynasty when Vince Young ran the ball down the Trojans' throat, 41-38.

That to us is clear evidence that whatever claim the Trojans had to a "dynasty" was ripped from them by a 6'5" 233 lb quarterback wearing Longhorn orange.

But we guess a little thing like being beaten on national TV for the NCAA football championship should never get into the way of a great lead...
