This is more than a little “saber-rattling” when a Chinese general is allowed to be quoted China will use nukes against the USA in any confrontation over Taiwan. We subscribe to the adage that when a hostile element tells you they will exert their hostility against you, you must believe them.
So, we must add nukes to the mix. Both sides have to wonder in the event of a showdown over Taiwan, whether wrecking each other over a tiny island is worth the bloodshed that could ensue.
China must know that a nuclear attack on the mainland could cripple them in ways even military planners cannot foresee, and so must the US.
