Featuring Slipknot and Stone Sour's singer Corey Taylor.

Now, I am way too old to really get into Corey Taylor. I had heard of his original band, Slipknot, but had not heard of his current band Stone Sour until 2006.

That was the year my father died, later the next October I was delivering my father's car he left to my daughter, driving to Florida to make the exchange.

Her roommate, now her fiance, ( thank Gawd ) had a Stone Sour CD in his truck, and I asked who it was. Later that Thanksgiving, when the daughter came to Oklahoma to help me spread my father's ashes on the Arkansas River, they both bought me this "Come What(ever) May" album as a Christmas present.

It wasn't until later the next year I realized the connection between Taylor, Slipknot and Stone Sour. Now, with this new collaboration with a Finn cello heavy metal band, I have to say what an amazing rock artist Taylor is and with an incredible voice range to boot. His activity in collaborating with other musicians is on par with the uber-talented Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters.

Grohl's original claim to fame was with the ultimate grunge band Nirvana, as their drummer. One good friend told me about Grohl: "Dave Grohl really gets rock and roll."

I'd have to say that Corey Taylor gets it even more.

From TFS:

Dirty little secret,
Dirty little lies.
Say your prayers and comb your hair,
Save your soul tonight,
Drift among the faithful,
Bury your desires.
Aberrations fill your head,
You need a place to hide
And I am...

Do you remember me.
And the kid I used to be?
Do you remember me?

When your world’s come crashing down
I want to relive.
(Your god ain't looking down on me!)

I’m not Jesus,
Jesus wasn’t fair!

You confess it all away,
But it’s only shit to me
(Your god ain't looking down on me!)

I’m not Jesus,
I will not forgive!

No I won’t!
No I won’t.
