I would classify the information in the emails ( I've only read about 20 files or so ~35 emails ) as troubling.

They show scientists not only unwilling to provide information, but also willing to hide data.

A lot of the sensational stuff appears to be overblown, but you cannot hide what these individuals are doing: agenda not science.
