More on J. Eric Fuller

What we know about Fuller:
- He's 63 years old, probably single with no significant other, other than the dawg.
- He lives in Tucson.
- He got shot at the Arizona political rally, apparently struck twice, grazed in his left knee and a round grazing the back.
- He's US Navy prior service during the Viet Nam war and in naval aviation.
- He was discharged from the Navy 41 years ago, pretty much as soon as he entered.
- He admits being an alcoholic since that time, until a year ago.
- He was busted for making death threats on television and involuntariluy committed to a mental facility.
- He was the individual the FBI said they were looking for after the Giffords shooting. He had gotten into a scuffle with a US Marine prior service and one of the victims who died in the shooting, a member of Gifford's staff, had to break up the fight.
- He makes his money as a political activist, apparently collecting signatures for petitions and the like.
Here's the deal with Fuller which gets lost in the contempt veterans, prior service and retirees have for someone who get an early out:
The contempt should not be for a man who succumbs to drinking and substance abuse then get kicked out of the military because if it.
The contempt should be that he forgot why he put on the uniform in the first place. He was there to defend something, and when he got out all that evaporated in the smoke and ether of substance abuse.
Love the sinner; hate the sin.
