One of the biggest games of the NCAA Mens Basketball season takes place tomorrow as No. 2 Texas hosts No. 1 Duke.

This game is being typed as a preview to the final four by Scout.com sportswriter Frank Burleson. Texas is clearly on the ascendency with eight wins by about 26 points average according to Sports Illustrated's Seth Davis, but, on the other hand, Duke has started its conference play already by defeating Virginia tech 77-75, and has been squeaking by in its games so far in the year.

Duke is 8-0 as well as Texas

According to Davis,Duke is suffering from injuries, as freshman forward Josh McRoberts (7.1 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and sophomore guard DeMarcus Nelson are benched from injuries. Davis seems to think that losing Nelson will really hurt in the Texas game:

This team desperately needs senior guard Lee Melchionni to break out of his shooting slump. Saturday against Texas would be a perfect time to do that. You can beat a good team with two players, but not a great one.

Texas gets to this game with their star guard P.J. Tucker, among others, rejoining the lineup this year after spending a year out for academics.

Says Davis: “(Texas) has a lethal four-man nucleus in point guard Daniel Gibson, forwards Brad Buckman and P.J. Tucker and sophomore center LaMarcus Aldridge, who is already stirring chatter that he could be the No. 1 pick in next year's NBA draft “

We haven't been watching NCAA hoops too closely this year so far but we will be taking a break to watch this game.

Note: As of this posting Florida was leading Bethune-Cookman, 34-20. the No. 10 Gators are gunning for their ninth win of the season.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
