Fifth ranked Louisville visits 18th ranked Kentucky after the Kentucky Wildcats took a 26 point whooping at the hands of Indian, 79-53.

So, is this really going to be much of a game?

We are betting it will be a great game. Kentucky shot 31 percent from the field, and this is from a team team which averages 61 points per game and has one of the top scoring defenses in the SEC. But what killed the Wildcats was they shot 7.4 percent from the field in three points.

You read that right. If Kentucky wanted to apply that percentage to their game Saturday, the Wildcats would have to attempt 100 3-pointers just to reach their season average.

Ice cold is all we have to say.

Louisville comes to Kentucky at the top of the Big East is most statistical categories. At 6-3, did Kentucky have a bad game, or will the Cardinals wreck the Wildcats?

The Clark Kellogg from Yahoo! Sports says this:

Kentucky is a better shooting team than it showed against the Hoosiers (a team that should challenge for the Big Ten title). I think the Wildcats will shoot better at home on Saturday, and with a week of practice and that embarrassing loss lingering on their minds, I expect the effort and intensity to be much improved. We might also see the Wildcats use the press a little more since they had some success with it against Indiana.

Louisville's star is on the rise for sure and a drubbing at Kentucky would confirm that. We suspect, however, that Kentucky could pull this one out to show at least the SEC, they won't be rolled over.

But Kentucky has to find a way to win against Louisville. 7 percent from 3 point and 31 percent field goals won't cut it.

Louisville has a rather poor free throw percentage, but is number three in 3 pointers made. Louisville also has the worst three point defenses in the Big East. What could kill Kentucky could be the Cardinals' rebound margin of +11.

Kentucky has had a terrible problem on their inside game, according to Kellogg, and unless they are willing to drive and penetrate for points, Kentucky may well find themselves shooting lots of three pointers to compensate, which against Louisville would be their last option.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
