Tennessee and LSU have each clinched their respective divisions in the SEC. Tennessee had to wade into The Swamp to do it.

Tennessee went to Florida last night and squeaked by a determined Gator man to man defense to win 76-72.

The clear Gator hero for this game was sophomore guard Jokim Noah who scored a Florida game high 20 points, five blocked shots and steals, showing why he will be a real star for the next two years. This young man kept Florida in the game with defensive play in the paint.

Tennessee killed Florida with treys. The Florida man to man defense worked well to keep Florida ahead by as much as nine points, but defensive shifts, such a double teaming, left Vol sophomore guard Chris Lofton open to shoot from beyond the arc, which he did hitting four of nine from long range and four of ten overall. Lofton also hit 100 percent in his four free throw attempts.

Tennessee (20-4, 11-2 conf ) hosts Arkansas ( 18-8, 7-6 conf )next Saturday, in spite of Tennessee dominance of the SEC East, this may not be the easiest game Tennessee will play. Arkansas hosted Alabama (15-10, 8-5 conference) last Tuesday beating them 65-63, placing themselves within striking distance of second in the SEC West. Alabama currently holds the number two spot in the SEC West.

Arkansas won this game with pure defense forcing 16 turnovers, 10 by steals and an astonishing 10 blocked shots. Arkansas was out shot in threes 57 to 29 percent and free throws, 85 to 63 percent.
