It is hard for us to gain a perspective on the first round of the Big 12. Four of the eight teams have 6-10 records, only one, Colorado, has a winning conference record ( 19-8, 8-7 conf .) and five of the eight teams have a winning record overall.
In fact this field in the first round is so weak, that we doubt we will see interesting basketball until the quarterfinals and we fully expect all eight teams to be out of the tournament by the quarterfinals.
