The tempo of combat operations continued at a much slower tempo.

Chernarus Defense Forces, Air Forces and Naval Forces have engaged in three separate operations against rebel forces in two regions.

1) Friday afternoon the operations staff for 3rd Bn, Chernarus 33rd Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade ordered a task force to be assembled to relieve friendly troops defending against separatist attacks on their position at Werferlingen.

In relief operations, it is customary to dispense with the normal road march formation and rush as many fast, mobile troops to the area of operation as quickly as possible.

The tactical plan was to penetrate into town with the armored infantry, and create a buffer to enable the stranded troops to retreat and board vehicles for evacuation. 2nd squad was to take the western area, while 3rd squad was to take the eastern area.

Command squad penterated north of the river in town but was able to save only one element out of 10 troops. The other squad was ordered south to rendezvous with a truck which would take them back to their unit.

The task force encountered a disabled BMP-1 stranded in the river, still operational and still dangerous. After numerous artillery missions, the command sent in a tank to destroy the IFV.

Another separatist armor vehicle, a BTR-80A apparently was destroyed after it crossed the river. The commander also saw a technical which was destroyed by small arms fire.

A BRDM scout car for the task force was destroyed by another BMP in western Weferlingen, as it attempted to provide heavy machine gun fire support against penetrating enemy troops.

One truck carrying some troops made it back to their zone, but brigade staff ordered the other squad to remain in town until further orders. The task force was ordered to return to base.

2) Early Saturday morning, a relief force from 1st Bn, 7th Motorized Rifle Brigade was ordered to the town of Leskovets in the Leskovets region to relieve forces under attack from separatists.

The tactical plan was to penetrate into town and to set up a broad front to stop enemy forces from entering town. But when the task force arrived enemy rifles already had broke into town, complicating relief operations.

Most of the separatist's attacks came from the east, so the commander deployed 2nd squad and command squad to occupy an easterly arc which would form part of the active cordon. Stranded forces, from 3rd Bn, were ordered south to rendezvous with trucks for evacuation.

Eventually, the troops were successfully evacuated. Losses for 1st Bn troops were light. Command squad and 3rd squad lost none, while 2nd squad lost three. Stranded forces lost 11 total, plus the two technicals deployed in support.

The task force BRDM scout car suffered a crew hit, and was forced to abandon their vehicle. The remaining crew member was evacuated along with 3rd squad.

Field reports are that the separatists lost at least one T-34/85 tank and a BRDM scout car, both likely to RPG fire.

3) Early Monday morning a Chernarus naval spetsnaz team was ordered to a location to find and eliminate two rebel operatives and a private contractor team in Altis.

Naval intelligence has no information on Grigoriy Bukharin or Helena Tereshkova, concluding the pair were newly deployed operatives for the rebels. The contractor team was sent there to assist the operatives in rounding up or eliminating resistance in the area.

The CNF spetsnaz team encountered a beach foot patrol about a kilometer south of the area of operation, and after a brief firefight, eliminated the patrol.

With the air cover provided by two Hellenic Air Force F-4 fighters, the team penetrated into the area's security zone, located Grigoriy Bukharin and Helena Tereshkova, and eliminated them both. The team commander took documents from the dead body of Tereshkova.

The team did not find the hit squad, assuming that that team was eliminated in the air attack.

The documents seized included a copy to of orders to several rebel operatives in the area and could give naval intelligence a chance to prevent some rebel activities.

4) A battlegroup from 1st Bn Chernarus 4th Separate Light Rifle Brigade was ordered to attack the town of Polana in Chernarus early Tuesday morning.

A separatist battle group had taken over the town and were preparing to setup a defense against attack. Two separatist operatives, Enver Hoxka and Angela Rexha, were in command of the rebel force, and were ordered to be eliminated.

The battlegroup approached the town from the south with command squad and a BRDM scout car in support. 2nd squad was ordered to push on the east side and 3rd squad was ordered on the west. Command squad closed on the operatives' headquarters, and eliminated the criminal group. The commander seized documents from the dead body of Rexha.

Probing further north, the commander was killed while attemtping to clear a building of a rebel RPG gunner. The second in command in turn killed the gunner and took change of the operation.

Pushing to the north of town, the commander attempted to locate dead drop documents. But with several separatists riflemen and technicals bearing down on the town, the commander abandoned the search, and ordered the rest of the command to retreat south.

As command squad and 3rd squad were retreating, more separatist rifle troops and a T-34/85 tank appeared. Despite destroying the tank, 2nd squad refused orders to retreat, as did the BRDM. The commander decided to abandon the two units and return to base.

Casualties were heavy. Command squad lost four, 2rd squad lost seven abd 3rd squad lost 1. Two SU-25 ground interdiction aircraft were shot down before the battlegroup even arrived to commence the ground attack.

Documents seized indicate nothing 1st Army Corps didn't know already.
