The tempo of combat operations continued at a slower tempo.

Chernarus Defense Forces, Air Forces and Naval Forces have engaged in three separate operations against rebel forces in four regions.

1) A warning order was issued to the commander of 4th Bn, Chernarus 10th Separate Tank Brigade after detecting separatists moving a large armor force toward Klein Pritzier in Rosche Friday morning.

Two weeks ago a battlegroup from 4th Bn was ordered to attack Klein Pritzier after a separate rebel force had taken over the town.

A task force was assembled and moved rapidly to the town. CDF forces set up a northern direction arc with tanks on the flanks and BTE rifle squad in the center.

The first attack came from the north after two light technicals attempted to enter town from the march. The vehicles, one AGS grenade launcher vehicle and a heavy machine gun vehicle were stopped by rifle fire.

The next attack came from the northwest and the northeast, included an unknown number of infantry trying a direct assault on friendly forces. Those attacks were stopped by rifle fire as well.

The last attacks came from the north and northwest, and included the bulk of rebel armor forces. By field count, two heavy tanks, and at least four BMPs were destroyed by tank gunfire.

Casualties were moderate. One scout car was destroyed after its crew was killed by heavy machine gun fire. One of the relief squads lost four and the other lost one. 2nd and 3rd squads each lost one.

When the withdraw order came down, the task force retreated in good order to the southeast.

2) A relief element from 3rd Bn, Chernarus 33rd Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was assigned the task of relieving forces trapped in Grasleben in Werferlingen.

The commander rapidly moved the scout cars and the fast infantry to the town with tanks, evacuation trucks and support trucks trailing. The road march took 40 minutes to reach Grasleben.

The tactics on relieving a small force under attack is to establish a defensive front to prevent penetration by enemy forces which could stop relief efforts.

2nd Squad setup firing points on the west side, while 3rd squad, Tank 2, and a scout car set up their position on the main north south road. Command squad took a position to the southeast of 3rd squad and Scout 2 set up on the east side of town.

The relieving rifle squads along with their two technicals managed to keep enemy rifle attacks at bay, However, enemy armor struck on 3rd squad's position not long after command squad arrived at their position. 3rd squad lost seven effectives along with its BTR.

A technical was destroyed as was Scout 1. After the exchange of fire, more enemy armor began pushing in from the north. 3rd squad was ordered to retreat, while command squad redeployed close to 3rd squad's old position.

The commander came under machine gun fire from two separate BMPs, and so ordered a tank attack using Tank 1 and Tank 2. Both BMPs were destroyed along with a T-55 tank which attempted to enter town.

Shortly after, the mission was accomplished, orders were issued to withdraw from town. As Scout 2 was moving passed the railroad bridge it came under heavy gun fire from a BMP1 and a BMP2. The scout car overturned, the crew bailed, but were killed by the BMPs.

During this time 3rd squad was broken up and folded into command squad and 2nd squad. The commander sent Tank 2 into a forested area to deal with the BMPs, but was instead destroyed by heavy fire.

The commander ordered an artillery barrage in to the general area. Seeing smoke rising from that area, command squad entered the forested area and found both BMPs destroyed.

Casualties were very heavy. 2nd squad lost three, while command squad lost two. Both scout cars were destroyed. One tank was destroyed. The relieving troops suffered as well. One squad lost one while the other lost five.

3) A battalion warning order was issued that a large separatist force was moving to attack the forward zone of 1st Bn, Chernarus 24th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade in Summa.

Casualties were heavy with command squad losing one, 2nd squad losing six and third squad losing seven.

In all, the defense of the forward zone was a failure because enemies were allowed too close.

Reinforcements arrived from brigade HQ including two tanks from the brigade commander's personal guard.

The tanks were responsible for destroying one BMP-2 and one BMP-1. A scout car also destroyed a technical in the northwest of the defensive zone.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
