The tempo of combat operations continued at a slower pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in two operations in two regions.

1) A task force assembled from elements of 4th Bn Chernarus 10th Separate Tank Brigade was ordered to intercept a separatist armor heavy force heading to Hanstedt in Rosche Friday night.

Hanstedt is the western edge of 4th Bn's area of operation. Any attempt to push forces through that area can be seen as an attempt to maneuver for encirclement by the enemy.

The task force reached Hanstedt safely, but its logistical tail was attacked by at least one enemy technical. When friendly reinforcements later swept the area, they apparently located one of the technicals and destroyed it.

Meanwhile in Hanstedt, the enemy launched two infantry attacks from the northwest, one of which successfully penetrated the security zone of the task force.

Command squad was forced to withdraw into town temporarily to deal with the enemy. The second enemy rifle attack was stopped quickly.

Throughout the battle, enemy wheeled armor attempted to push through our lines, only to be stopped by tanks. A field count of five BRDMs destroyed was recorded.

Casualties were moderate. 2nd squad lost five including their BTR and crew from a T-55 shot. As mentioned before, the two vehicles in the logistical tail were destroyed by an enemy technical.

Field counts for enemy losses include two T-34/85 tanks, one T-55 tank and one BMP-1 IFV.

2) A task force composed of units from 1st Bn Chernarus 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade was ordered to Varbono in Leskovets Saturday night to eject a separatist force which had taken over the village the morning before.

Leading the enemy force were two criminal operatives, Matija Depreradoch and Irinia Shayk, who were planning to cleanse the village of resistance through arrests and executions.

The tactical plan was for command squad to attack from the southwest, while the rest of the task force attacked from the southeast.

The two tanks and one BRDM scout car would press to the northern edge of the village, while the second BRDM car would help provide heavy machine gun fire support for 2nd and 3rd squads as they attacked into the crossroads in the village.

Once the crossroads was secure, the scout car would then move to the northeast to over that direction against enemy reinforcements.

Command squad met with light resistance as it closed on the hideout of the criminal operatives. 2nd and 3rd squad received the brunt of the resistance. The commander located the two operatives and eliminated them. He also seized some documents from the dead body of Shayk.

The commander also destroyed three supply trucks the separatists brought with them.

The retreat from the village once the order came down, went quickly, except that 2nd squad had pressed too far northeast. Command squad held the southern edge of Varbono as 2nd squad recalled its elements before retreating.

The delay enabled enemy mobile reinforcements to pursue retreating forces. In the retreat, the infantry section of the task force came under fire from an enemy BRDM and a BTR-80A, necessitating sending tanks back north to destroyed them.

Casualties were moderate. Command squad lost one, while 3rd squad lost three. Field reports were that separatist forces lost at least two BRDMs, one T-55 tank and one BTR-80A.
