Subject: Weekly Summary of Combat Operations, from December 31st, 2021 to January 6th, 2022 Inclusive.

The tempo of combat operations continue at an increased pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in eight operations in six regions.

1) An amphibious task force from 1st Bn Chernarus 2nd Separate Naval Infantry Brigade was ordered to Torppala in Maksiniemi to clear the town of a separatist force.

The force was led by two enemy criminal operatives, Yevginiy Samarchenko and Kata Gorbacheva, who went about collecting tribute and arresting people they considered to be politically unreliable.

The separatists arrested three individuals, two females and a male, and were holding them. The naval infantry force was tasked with their release and evacuation.

The tactical plan was for 2nd and 3rd squad to attack from the southeast, while command squad attacked from the southwest.

Enemy counterfire was very heavy. 2nd squad suffered heavy losses as the task force closed in. The two operatives were eliminated. The town was cleared.

In the retreat back to the boats, command squad was attacked by a heavy machine gun technical, which killed three squad members. The civilian prisoners were released and evacuated back to the ship.

Losses were high 2nd squad lost seven while command squad lost three.

2) A second naval infantry attack mission took place in Nena n Maksniemi. Targeted for elimination were Simeon Sevic and Angela Rexha. Three supply trucks were destroyed.

Losses were heavy with command squad losing zero, 2nd squad losing five and 3rd squad losing eight.

3) Behnsdorf in Werferlingen relief mission failed. Commander killed. No photoplay or video is available.

4) An ad hoc armored formation assembled from 2nd Bn Chernarus 33rd Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was rushed to the town of south Schonthal in Cham.

Brigade operations issued a warning order that a separatist affiliated force would attempt take over the town.

2nd and command squad both engaged and destroyed infantry probes into the town.

About 30 minutes into the operation, brigade command issued new orders for the task force to advance to a position about 1,500 meters northeast from south Schonthal.

The task force, as in town, deployed along a broad front facing north. 3rd squad bore the brunt of enemy infantry attacks. Command squad fought off infantry probes as well.

When the retreat orders were issued, command squad led the retreat back to a crossroads east of town. One BRDM scout car (Scout 1) had been deployed there to cover the route to Rally 1.

The retreat route turned out to be clear. The task force retreated to Rally1 in good order.

Losses were high. 3rd squad lost eight. Command squad lost three including its BTR. Both of the scout cars lost one crew member each.

5) A Chernarus Defense Force special forces team was transported to Novaya Petrovka in Chernarus on Sunday night with the task of assassinating a pair of enemy criminal operatives.

Alexei Mishchenko and Valentina Blavatsky long have been on an elimination list by the Chernarus Coastal Operations Group. Electronic intercepts and local friendly operatives indicated the pair would be at the railyard.

The team inserted about a kilometer southwest of the railyard, then proceeded to Novaya Petrovka. With air support from a CDF gunship, the team penetrated the location's defensive perimeter, found the operatives, and eliminated them.

The team then extracted safely to the naval aviation airfield at Balota.

No casualties were reported.

6) Meeting engagement in Shakhovka in Chernarus. Mission was successful, but losses were near catastrophic. Each squad lost eight. One scout car was abandoned.

7) A light rifle task force from 4th Bn Chernarus 24th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade was issued a warning order that a separatist force would push through the town on Kokkila in Hellanmaa Wednesday night.

The task force encountered and destroyed an enemy rifle patrol on the march to Kokkila. They also destroyed a rifle squad which already was present in town.

Most of the infantry attacks took place near the deployment of command squad. Enemy forces in those attacks included Russian PMCs and Serb speaking militia.

The task force held the area against nearly constant enemy attacks until it was ordered to return to the forward zone. Some of the attacks included vehicles which came from the rear of the defensive position.

Those attacks were defeated.

Losses were high. Command squad lost one, while 2nd squad lost four and 3rd squad lost six.

8) An amphibious task force from 2nd Bn Chernarus 2nd Separate Naval Infantry Brigade was sent to a site on the eastern coast of Altis Thursday afternoon.

Naval intelligence issued a warning order that separatist forces were planning to deploy forces to the coast as a counter move to recent landing operations.

Supporting the operation were two Swedish rifle squads brought in via helicopter. The task force had naval artillery fire support from a Chernarus naval frigate off shore. Two Hellenic Air Force F-4 fighter bombers provided air support.

Separatist attacks hit the force along the broad front they were deployed in, mainly in the middle where command squad was deployed. The enemy hit so hard and fast, commander wass not able to being an artillery fire strike to bear.

The commander requested orders to retreat, and was forced to withdraw closer to the shoreline to cover the retreat from enemy attacks. Losses were very heavy.
