Subject: Weekly Summary of Combat Operations, from December 16th, 2022, to December 22nd 2022 Inclusive.

The tempo of combat operations continue at a increased tempo.
Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in seven operations in four regions.
1) On Friday, a Chernarus Defense Forces special forces team, assigned to Chernarus 2nd Army Corps, launched an attack on Malye Kupsty in Beketov with the task of recovering a pair of civilian intelligence operatives hiding out from search parties.
The pair were almost discovered by a local, and so were forced to go on the run. Chernarus Coastal Operations Group ordered the operation to recover the informants.
With air cover provided by a CDF gunship, the team inserted via transport helicopter , then penetrated the town's defensive zone, engaging in several firefights with local militia. A female operative was found to be wounded, so she received first aid before being escorted to the extract point.
The team went on to destroy three supply trucks before withdrawing to the extract zone.
The team medic was killed in an explosion.
2) A battle group formed from 3rd Bn, Chernarus 13th Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade marched Werferlingen with orders to clear the town of separatist affiliated forces, and to eliminate a pair of criminal operatives, Radoslav Stoijevic and Anastasia Dobrojevic.
The tactical plan called for the rifles to advance along a broad front, with command squad in the middle. Supporting 3rd squad in the north was Scout 1 BRDM scout car.
Command squad advanced steadily north against strong rifle fire, as the tanks fought their own battles against enemy technicals and infantry. Scout 1 was destroyed while covering 3rd squad.
During his assault on the building where the operatives, were staying, command was killed and then his second in command was killed as well. The tactical commander managed to strip the female operative of documents and a cell phone.
Since artillery was late in contacting the commander, the commander only had enough time to destroy the first of three AA vehicles. Sending Tank 1 in, the remaining AA vehicles destroyed the tank before being destroyed by artillery.
Losses were high with Tank 1 and Scout 1 being destroyed. 2nd Squad lost one, while 3rd squad lost three. Command squad lost three including two commanders.
3) Later the next morning the battlegroup of 3rd Bn, Chernarus 13th Separate Mountain Motorized Rifle Brigade was sent back out on a warning order that separatists forces would try to take Hodingen from the march.
The battlegroup deployed on a semi circle pointing northeast. Hodingen sits north of a river, so Tank 2 deployed in a position to intercept enemy mobile forces coming from the northwest. 3rd squad was on the northernmost position, while 2nd squad was on the easternmost.
Enemy infantry attacks began at the intersection of command squad, situated in the middle near 3rd squad. Four rifle attacks took place, with 2nd squad bearing the brunt of the attacks. Scout 1 was critically damaged during the fighting.
Numerous attacks took place by enemy armor, especially T-34/85 tanks, all of which were defeated. Once the attacks were abated, the task force crossed the river and retreated in good order to Eishenrode.
Losses were high. Command squad lost two, while 2nd squad lost six. The BRDM scout car was deemed too severely damaged, so the crew was evacuated with 2nd squad.
Enemy losses were high as well. Field count of enemy vehicle losses included a total of five T-34/85 tanks destroyed, including one which got within a kilometer of the battalion commander's position.
4) Part of Chernarus 48th Separate Air Assault Battalion parachuted into Malden on Tuesday with orders to clear Chapoi of separatist troops and to eliminate a pair of criminal command operatives, including Radijica Murat and a female minder.
Only half of the group parachuted in its drop zone, necessitating the remaining aircraft to land at an airport to unload. The active task force on the ground approached Chapoi with caution, carefully probing into its defenses.
2nd squad made contact first, while command squad located the building where the two operatives were staying and eliminated them. Command also destroyed three supply trucks before turning back towards town.
As 2nd squad probed into town, command squad linked up with them and caught several rifleman, destroying them. By the time that sector of the town was cleared, 3rd squad arrived. It was ordered to the east to block new enemy reinforcements.
The commander was killed trying to clear a building, then the second in command was killed. Command of the task force fell to 3rd squad which retreated back west, while fighting off enemy reinforcements. Casualties were high with command squad losing five and 3rd squad losing five.

5) A second operation commenced shortly after the last operation, only this time a task force from 48th Separate Air Assault Battalion was called upon to clear the town of Larche in northern Malden.
This time the commander brought orders to locate and release a trio of individuals that command wanted freed.
All squads landed in their respective landing zones, then marched quickly north to Larche. However, 2nd squad and the weapons squad refused to advance, forcing the commander to attack with only half his forces.
The task force met with heated opposition as they penetrated the town's defense. Air support destroyed an enemy technical, enabling the force to reach the town center very quickly.
Commander located one of the two criminal commander operatives, eliminating him, but was unable to locate the female minder. Following that, the commander located and freed the three prisoners.
The commander moved the prisoners to a safer area to protect them from an enemy counterattack. 3rd squad was sent to the east to stop an enemy counterattack, successfully completing its task.
The commander and his second in command were killed. 2nd squad commander, who was still a kilometer away took over overall command. The new commander located two of the three prisoners, and moved them back to a safe area.
Losses were heavy. 3rd squad was wiped out, while command squad lost seven. 2nd squad lost six.
6) A battlegroup from 2nd Bn, Chernarus 2nd Naval Infantry Brigade was ordered to land by assault transport boat with the task of recapturing the airfield at Selakano.
Naval intelligence issued the warning order saying that the separatists involved had brought an antiaircraft battery with them. The airfield at Selakano always has been a difficult area to take from the march, this especially so in the winter.
4th Squad engaged a separatist patrol when they landed, so they were tied down for a short time while the threat from the patrol was abated.
The tactical maneuver plan involved advancing on the airfied in a broad front, 2nd squad on the west, with 3rd and 4th squad penetrating the airfield perimeter on the east.
Enemy rifle counterfire was intense, but with artillery landing and destroying a technical, opposition was swept away. Command squad commander was killed in this early encounter.
Commander located the female minder, but was unable to find the male operative. Documents and a cell phone were stripped from her.
The task force retreated in good order back to the boats. Casualties were moderate with command squad losing five, and 3rd squad and 4th squad each losing one.
7) An amphibious battlegroup from 2nd Bn, Chernarus 2nd Separate Naval Infantry Brigade was called upon to return to Selakano town, after it was learned separatist forces had taken over the town.
Naval intelligence issued a warning order that friendly local agents had left a dead drop of stolen documents at a building on the northside of town.
The tactical maneuver plan called for an advance on a broad front, command squad on the west, and 2nd and 3rd squads on the east. Once again, 4th squad became pinned down by an enemy beach patrol.
Commander was killed advancing in town when separatist forces set and sprung an ambush. The fighting was backed up by a PK machine gun technical.
Second in command saw one of the criminal command operatives, a female shoot and kill a friendly rifleman. Commander closed on the location, eliminating the female shooter.
The dead drop was not found, however, so when the battlegroup received orders to retreat, they left.
Casualties were moderate. Command squad lost six, while 3rd squad lost two.
