Subject: Weekly Summary of Combat Operations, from May 12th, 2023, to May 18th 2023 Inclusive.

The tempo of combat operations continued at a steady pace.

Chernarus Defense, Naval and air forces have engaged in five operations in three regions.

1) OP2305-12-2 A task force was assembled from elements of 2nd Bn. Chernarus 20th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Regiment for a wide area offensive operation in Cham.

The first attack was on Ast, where command squad attacked from the north, while all the armor concentrated their attacks from the southwest.

Command squad encountered Wagner operators and Spanish and Russian speaking militia, as well as local militia. Commander of the task force was killed in a firefight with local militia.

The operation continued north to east Bieberbach. Meanwhile, enemy reinforcements continued to enter Ast. An enemy BMP destroyed 2nd squad before could be moved to assist at Bieberbach.

Command squad attacked Bieberbach from the southeast with Tank 1 supporting. An enemy technical was attacked. The task force second in command was killed.

Attacks continued into east Bieberbach, as enemy reinforcements poured into town from the north and southwest. Enemy attack were repelled but losses were high.

A final task was to recover an SU-25 pilot who was shot down abut two kilometers west of Bieberbach.

Commander ordered the task force to retreat back to base due to heavy infantry losses, and reinforcements failing to appear. Losses included one BRDM scout car crew converted to infantry.

Field counts of enemy losses included four technicals and three BMPs.

2) OP2305-12-5 Parts of 2nd Bn, Chernarus 20th Separate Mechanized Cavalry Regiment conducted offensive combat operations against separatist forces in western Cham.

In Premiesl, command squad launched its attack in the rain from the south. Finding two criminal command operatives, commander eliminated them both, and seized critical documents with potential intelligence value.

An enemy AA battery, which downed both SU-25 fighters, was deployed to the northeast of town. Command squad, after eliminating a number of enemy reinforcements, destroyed the battery.

In Loitendorf, the attacks continued, with command squad sweeping through the town, capturing it from enemy forces.

In the final objective in Hitlersreid, the task force attacked from the southeast, overrunning enemy positions. The commander was killed in a crossfire.

Casualties were heavy. Command squad lost five, while 2nd squad was wiped out. Scout 1 was abandoned due to mechanical issues.

Field counts of enemy losses included four BMPs, three T-55s, and one T-34/85.

3) OP2305-12-5 Commander of a task force assembled from elements of 1st Bn, Chernarus 4th Separate Light Mountain Rifle Brigade marched on Gugulovo in Chernarus with orders to attack and clear the town of enemy forces.

The enemy force only recently occupied the hamlet, and were led by two enemy criminal command operatives, Luan Trlajic and Vace Gorbacheva. Both were on command's elimination lists.

The task force successfully avoided enemy artillery, which fell to the southwest. The tactical plan was for 2nd and 3rd squads to attack from the east, while command and 4th squads attacked from the west.

The task force quickly overran the town. Commander found and eliminated both enemy operatives, and took several intelligence items from their persons.

Just as enemy forces were preparing to arrive, commander received orders to withdraw. 4th squad which was situated on the northern edge of town was trapped by arriving enemy forces.

Command squad redeployed north in an effort to spring 4th squad loose, but was only partially successful.

Casualties were high. Command squad lost one, while 2nd squad lost two. 4th squad lost four. The assisting MI-24 gunship was shot town.

Field counts of enemy losses included one heavy machine gun technical and one Humvee heavy machine gun technical.

4) OP2305-12-6 Part of 2nd Bn, Chernarus 2nd Naval Infantry Brigade was ordered to Saukkoranta in Maksniemi to defend against enemy attacks there.

After landfall, the naval infantry encountered Russian speaking covering forces. After pushing them back to the north, the task force occupied the village on the south side of the river.

Initial attacks by Wagner operators hit 2nd squad, then 3rd squad which were deployed to the east.

The enemy attempted to breakthrough there and in the sector of 4th squad. Commander ordered a number of naval artillery strikes, specifically scatterable mines, as well as white phosphorus rounds.

Enemy forces failed to gain a foothold in the town. The task force withdrew back to the boats with light losses.

Intervention by naval artillery kept a strong enemy force at bay, preventing them from accomplishing their plans.
