Our first year of blogging comes to an end today.

This weblog was founded in the same month as a far more successful and more liberal blog, run by an ideological and biological oppsite: Arianna Huffington.

Glad we chose sports and wargaming as our primary themes, occaisionally dipping into politics and culture only as the need moved us.

The other blog proves that thousands of dollars can't wipe away the silliness sometimes, but then it can buy you enough chemicals that you just don't care.

There is a lot more to look forward to.

Think about it: The past year we saw the USC Trojans' "dynasty" fall apart like a cheaply made football at the hands of Texas and a 235 pound quarterback, Vince Young. We saw Florida, a team that got beat twice by South Carolina in the SEC regular season, win the NCAA mens basketball championship. We watched in jaw-dropping horror as a team from a communter school, George Mason, beat a field of the tougest mens basketball teams in the nation to get to the Final Four, only to get beat like loan shark's customer at the hands of Florida, the eventual champion.

As we said, there is a lot more to come.

World Cup soccer starts next month in Germany. We don't really have the time to do this but it would be intersting to read/watch how many times the dead tree and golden throat media beats the bad ( albeit popular ) American beer to death with tedious comparisons.

Sports Illustrated says that half the Big Ten will be top contenders in NCAA football next year, so it will be interesting to see just how all this turns out.

And we just found out this morning that the NCAA is planning to hammer Indiana's newest mens basketball coach, ex-Oklahoma coach Kelvin Sampson, with penalties for rules violations over a long period of time while at Oklahoma.

So, Arriana, Kelvin, George Mason et al, as well as those folks who have read and even commented here:

This Bud's, uhm, Wine's, screwdriver's for you.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
