Today is the 56th anniversary of the invasion of South Korean by North Korea.

This post is to honor those American service people who gave their all and to those who survived.

One of the best descriptions of the ground war is the book "The Forgotten War" by Clay Blair.

This was has long been considered an infantry only war since much of the terrain is not considered to be tank country. Even so, North Korea launched their war of agression with T-34/85s, a very powerful weapon most of which were destroyed by American defensive infantry actions by the time of the Puan perimeter.

This war was also the final writing of American ground defensive doctrine was fully and finally written, authored by Gen. Walton Walker, the field commander we credit with saving Korea.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
