In one episode of "Married with Children" Peggy Bunday wins two weeks of execise with Jim Jupiter, "Healthiest man in Chicago."

On Jim Jupiter's first visit, Al comes home and gets into an argument with Jupiter:

Al: Listen, Jimbellina. Don't let these slits on my wrists fool you. I'm in great shape. I was an athlete in high school..."

Jim Jupiter: So was I. I was a gymnast!

Al (chuckling):Gymnast isn't an athlete. Gymnast is... is like a girl..."

We must admit we hold the same high level of ignorance about the sport of lacrosse that Al Bundy had for gymnastics.

Which is okay since, according the excerpts from the NY Time "sports columnist", Selena Roberts holds ignorant views about the law and sports that positively makes Al Bundy look like an Einstein by comparison.

We deliberately withheld comment about the Duke mens lacrosse team gang rape charge, which eventually turned out to be false, primarily because we simply didn't know enough about the sport to care. Had these charges been leveled at Mike Kryziewski and the mens hoops team, we may have been tempted to try to analyze how these charges will effect team play against Villanova or UConn.

But Ms. Roberts apparently knows wealth and privileged white folks when she sees them and sees the entire story as a metaphor for feminist/leftist inspired changes at Duke University. Ms. Roberts not only sees that which no other sport columnist could see about this sorry episode, she apparently ignores stories attributed to the disgraced district attorney; that the justification for trumping up charges to a class A felony were necessary to get re-elected.

Deception is great in any competition; it is best to keep your opponent off his balance by, for example, doing a little juke step to the right while going left. You gotta do it to compete.

But sports journalist don't have to compete except with each other so conveying a deliberate deception to your readers is rather a serious matter, and should be a career-ending matter if you ask us, if the only thing your mind can come up with with regard to the legal harassment of innocent male athletes is they had it coming.

This isn't sports reporting. It's advancing an agenda.

Ms. Roberts should know the cultural and political pendulum swings both ways and there will come a time she will be knocked off her perch, albeit not for her hatred of athletes on whom she should be reporting, but because maybe it's time to even things up.

Because we know you have it coming. We just don't think you will handle it with dignity and aplomb, the way Duke mens lacrosse team did.

You'll just make up something else.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
