Yahoo! Sports columnist Terry Bowden has put together an entirely credible list of the top four teams in college football in 2005, and 12 other teams, the total of which are his “Sweet Sixteen” in college football..

It's hard to disagree with the top four, USC, Texas, Tennessee and... Ohio State?

The other 12 schools are predicted to do well enough to get to the Top 25 and earn a bowl berth at the end of the season.

Of the top three schools in Big 10 sports ( Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa ), Ohio State has the easiest schedule, except they are hosting Texas and Iowa at home. It is easy to understand the Buckeyes winding up in contention for the NCAA crown, but we get this uneasy feeling about it: Ohio State??

Another thing Bowden writes about the Big 10 was Michigan's poor showing in defense last year, 279 points overall, the highest in Michigan's history and is why Michigan is listing as the12 also-rans. He must not be expecting an improvement in defense in 2005..

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
