Simple explanation:

Florida won 11 regular season games,one post season game than the BCS game and was snake bit by a surprisingly good defense by Ole Miss.

OU, similarly won 11 regular season games, one post season game but was beaten by the only team in the Big 12 I considered to have any kind of defense, Texas.

Throughout OU's 2008 "vita", they failed to encounter a tough dedicated and flexible defense the SEC is known for, and when they did ( vs. Texas )they folded like a cheap lawn chair.

You can shoot your way into a BCS championship game, but you'll never shoot your way out.

"Style points" mean nothing if an opposing defense can beat them out of you.
