The Internet Storm Center has reduced its storm level to green, the lowest level possible as the situation has stabilized on the internet and no new computers have been infected.

The F-Secure site also announced a new variant for zotob.b carries its own mass mailer. Zotob.b doesn't appear to have any additional capabilities other than those outlined for Zotob.

The Storm Center also reports that even XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable if null sessions are enabled. Null session is a registry setting which allows backward compatibility to older Microsoft internet software such as the Exchange Server and MSSQL server. The Center reports immediate patching is your best defense.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
