UPDATE-- Noel Shepard of Newsbusters made a public request to see the email headers to put to rest where the email came from.

Rest of the post follows:

The article linked to is about an NBC producer television who replied to a conservative journalist with the classy retort, "Bite me, Jewboy!"

NBC can easily prove its point by asking to see the email header and by checking its mail server logs and posting the results online.

Log for postfix look like this:

Sep 26 01:35:24 sp2337c postfix/smtpd[51796]: connect from unknown[88.204.159.85]
Sep 26 01:35:25 sp2337c postfix/smtpd[51796]: 880929453: client=unknown[88.204.159.85]
Sep 26 01:35:37 sp2337c postfix/cleanup[51799]: 880929453: message-id=
Sep 26 01:35:37 sp2337c postfix/qmgr[87277]: 880929453: from=, size=6073, nrcpt=2 (queue active)
Sep 26 01:35:37 sp2337c postfix/virtual[51801]: 880929453: to=, orig_to=, relay=virtual, delay=12, delays=12/0.04/0/0, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox)

That's from the receiving server. NBC can easily trace it to whatever server it came from. If it is from one of its servers it's easiy to find out from what IP the email was sent.

My guess is that NBC probably uses a webmail client and if so, and if someone else sent the email, NBC has a lot bigger problems than just its slavish refusal to cover the current White House.

They have a hacker running things making anti-Semitic messages.

I don't believe it either.

If you have something to add, Fire Away!
