The task force arrived in town and deployed on a shallow arc pointing north. Once they were situated, the attacks began, first with infantry attacks coming from the northwest.

Tank 1 was deployed along the northwest axis, and dealt with the infantry attacks without help from 2nd squad. As far as could be ascertained, the attacks were stopped, but later it was found a number of enemy infantry had infiltrated into town.

Two operatives leading the separatists were Oleg Noskov and Tika Xhukici, both of whom were on a kill list.

The tactical plan was for Tank 1 and Tank 2 to cover the main road leading north through Werferlingen city, while 2nd and 3rd squad moved north, then turned east to execute a flanking attack.

Command squad with the cover of Scout 1 (BRDM) would move east, then north clearing the town up to the location of the operatives.

In the initial contact, 2nd and 3rd squad bailed upon hearing a gunfire exchange between the tanks and an enemy SPG-9 technical. Scout 1 and command squad continued passed them to execute their planned maneuvers.

Command squad came into contact with a Serb speaking militia group, which had deployed inside buildings in the south, and who were backed up by a grenade launcher technical.

Command squad hacked its way north to the operatives' housing unit. The commander eliminated Xhukici, and stripped her of documents. Noskov was later found dead in the streets. He also was stripped of documents.

During the attack by command squad, neither 2nd nor 3rd squad moved to their assigned positions. Command squad moved north to locate a dead drop of documents left there by local friendly intelligence agents.

A separatist formation led by two operatives, Gjergj Kastrioti and Nadezhda Pavlova took over the area, bringing with them an AA battery.

Upon landing the naval infantry force was fired on by a small enemy foot patrol. The marine force counterattacked and drove off the patrol, suffering lossses in the operation. Naval artillery destroyed the mortar battery.

The tactical plan was for 3rd squad to enter the airfield grounds via a break in the south fence, keeping up fire on the airfield occupants, while 2nd squad and command squad would attack from the southwest.

3rd squad suffered severe casualties in their advance. Once in contact, enemy rifle fire and fire from an enemy heavy machine guns technical took its toll of 2nd squad and command squad.
